Product Description

When noise control is critical, a heavy duty acoustic enclosure from pdblowers is designed to greatly reduce the noise created by equipment such as positive displacement blowers and vacuum pumps.

In addition to all of the features of our other enclosures such as hinged and removable panels for easy equipment access, our heavy duty acoustic enclosure design also incorporates a thicker insulation, gasketed doors and access panels, as well as a special baffled sub-base that result in an acoustic enclosure that can achieve up to 22 dBA noise reduction. For even further noise attenuation, send us your specific requirements and we can work with you to build a completely custom acoustic enclosure to meet your need.

Our acoustic enclosures are designed for blower and vacuum pump packages and are suitable for many other types of equipment that require noise attenuation or must be protected from the elements.

Size
Our standard heavy duty enclosure is 5’x5’x6.5′, however our enclosures can be built to your spec at any size.

Material
Our most popular option for this style enclosure is powder coated steel. Another popular choice is galvanized steel painted with an exterior finish; various finishes are available based on customer needs. This enclosure can also be built with other specialty materials such as stainless steel depending on your specific needs.

Insulation
Our most popular insulation option is 3″ Rockwool mechanically fastened to the interior skin of the enclosure; this is a budget friendly option that provides typical noise reduction of up to 22 dBA plus reduction at 3′ from the package. Other insulation materials are available including foam, recycled carpet pads, foam with quilted mylar scrim surface, and decoupled foam. A perforated liner is also available to protect personnel from coming into contact with the insulation and minimize damage; a liner is recommended when the enclosure will be opened for maintenance on a regular basis or is large enough to allow personnel to enter inside the enclosure.

Ventilation Base
For heavy duty acoustic enclosures we pull air in at the ends or top and use a custom fabricated, baffled steel sub-base to vent the air out through the bottom of the enclosure for maximum noise reduction. The sub-base has anchors and lifting lugs to move the enclosure. If the enclosure will be used for equipment other than a blower or vacuum pump package please specify your expected heat load so we can offer solutions to best suit your needs.
